Attend a PMP® Exam Prep Certification Boot Camp Training class in the Hialeah, FL area:
| |  Dec 27-30
Starting and Submitting your PMP® ApplicationApply for your PMP certification application directly on PMI's website here. The first decision you will need to make is whether you want to become a member of PMI or not.
Membership has many benefits including access to free .pdf downloads of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) which is the book the PMP Exam is based on. In addition, after you pass the PMP Exam and receive your PMP certification, you will be required to accrue 60 PDU's (Professional Development Units) of learning during the next 3 years. One PDU is equal to one hour of training, so you'll need at least 60 hours of training to complete this ongoing requirement.
Once you have your PMP certification, you can collect PDU's several ways. One is by taking additional boot camp classes like this one, which will give you PDU's towards your PMP. If you are a member of PMI, you will have access to their on-line library of training videos which compliment the PMP material. BTW, Red Rock also provides you with a list of sources for acquiring 120 free PDU's towards your PMP.
Another benefit of becoming a member of PMI BEFORE you get your PMP certification is that the PMP test fee is discounted from $555 to $405 USD. If you do the math you will note that PMI has made it slightly less expensive to become a member and then get your PMP.
If you choose to become a member of PMI, simply skip the membership creation portal and go straight to the PMP application portal on PMI's website which is located here. When you have completed the PMP application simply call PMI and ask them to create a membership record from your PMP application data. This will save you time.
Next, complete your PMP application, submit it, and wait 5 business days. PMI will reply with an acceptance email that your application for the PMP Exam has been accepted.
The next step will be to pay for your PMP Test. If you pre-paid through Red Rock simply forward your acceptance email to Contact@RedRockResearch.com and include your full name as it appears on your government issued ID card (drivers license) you intend to use at the testing center to identify yourself. It must match exactly. Also please send the email address you use to correspond with PMI. Red Rock will pay for your PMP test and you'll immediately receive another email from PMI containing a PearsonVue code.
Go to www.PearsonVue.com and locate a testing center in your area. Copy and paste the PearsonVue code from the email into the www.PearsonVue.com website to secure your testing slot in your area.
Am I guaranteed to pass the PMP® Exam? Red Rock Research offers an industry-leading price, and an optional first-time passing guarantee for the PMP® exam. This means that if you purchase the guarantee, we guarantee you will pass the test on your first try. The PMP® is a difficult test and we take our guarantee seriously. If you don't pass the test on the first try we will pay for your second attempt. If you don't pass on your second attempt, we will pay for your third attempt. If you don't pass the PMP® on the third try, PMI requires you to wait an entire calendar year before your next attempt, and Red Rock will refund you the cost of the course minus the test we have paid for already. Check our guarantee against others and be sure they give you all of your money back, like we do. We have noted that many other providers keep a 'processing fee' when issuing refunds. What is your pass rate for the PMP® Exam? Pass rates vary over time. Of those attendees who follow our plan, about 8 out of 9 pass the PMP® exam on their first attempt. People who study pass the test, people who don't study have to take it over again. What can you tell me about the PMP® Exam? The PMP® Exam spans 4 hours and has 200 multiple-choice questions with four possible answer for each questions. This gives you about 1.6 minutes per questions. How is the PMP® Exam different from the CAPM® Exam? The PMP® and CAPM® exams are based on Blooms Taxonomy. The PMP® exam is based on the higher levels of the taxonomy (Creating, Evaluating, Analyzing) whereas the CAPM® is based on the lower levels of the taxonomy (Remember, Understand, Applying). How many questions are on the PMP® Exam? The PMP® Exam has 200 multiple-choice questions. How much time do I have to complete the PMP® Exam? PMI allows you three attempts to pass the PMP® exam. If you can't pass it in three attempts PMI requires you to wait one year to test again. How many times can I take the PMP® Exam? PMI allows you three attempts to pass the PMP® exam. If you can't pass it in three attempts PMI requires you to wait one year to test again. Where in the HIALEAH area can I take the PMP® Exam? The PMP® Exam is taken at a PearsonVue testing center. You can locate a PearsonVue testing center in your area from their website: www.PearsonVue.com. Can the PMP® Exam be taken online? Should I become a member of PMI? Membership in PMI has many benefits. Membership presently costs $129.00/year and generous discounts are available to students and retired professionals. The most immediate benefit for becoming a member of PMI is the cost of membership plus taking the PMP® exam is slightly less than the cost of the test alone for non-members. Red Rock recommends you become a member of PMI. Here is a list of membership benefts: https://www.pmi.org/membership/benefits Where do I start my application for membership in PMI? Where do I start my application for become a PMP®? How much does the PMP® Exam cost? The PMP® Exam presently costs $405 for members, and $555 for non-members. How much does membership in PMI cost? Membership in PMI costs $129/year. Generous discounts are available for students and retired professionals. Should I start my PMP® application before coming to class? Preferably, you should start your PMP® application and finish it before class begins. This is because PMI can take up to 5 business days to respond to your application. If you wait until class starts you will be pushing back the soonest you can take the test by at least 5 business days. This being said, people sometimes do show up on day 1 without starting their application. How can I show people I have passed the PMP® Exam? Is there an official PMP® registry? Which version of the PMBOK® Guide is the course based on? The course is based on the latest version of the PMBOK®, version 6.0. What score is needed to pass the PMP® Exam? PMI requires a 62% to pass the test. Understand, though that this number should mean absolutely nothing to you because the test is difficult and structured with questions that are extremely tricky. What is needed to maintain a PMP® certification? To keep your PMP® credential current you must demonstrate 60 professional development units (PDU's) of PMI-approved training during the next 3 years. Most of Red Rock's course count towards PDU's.
Our Optional Passing Guarantee
Our primary objective is to get you past your PMP Test
Even though Red Rock has an excellent optional passing guarantee to accompany
your training course, you should know that we work VERY HARD to get our training
attendees past their tests. We have put thousands of hours into course
development and we choose trainers with substantial industry experience to
present content with real-world examples so that you can understand it quicker.
In addition, we have developed our Pass-Assurance Technology (see below) to help
you understand when you are finished with training and ready to take your PMP
Exam.
Optional 100% Money-back Pass Guarantee
|
|
If you purchase the optional guarantee along with your
training course, you will be covered as follows:
- After your PMP training is complete, if you don't pass your test on attempt #1,
we will pay for your second attempt and help you where your training was weak.
If you don't pass on your second attempt, we will pay for your third attempt,
and again, help you where your training was weak. If you don't pass on your
third attempt, we will refund ALL of your money, except for the tests we have
paid for in your behalf. You even get to keep the training materials given to
you in the course.
- In order to qualify for the guarantee, you must read the PMBOK PMP
certification book we send you, be present in the training class every day,
score within the safe zone on our simulator, and take the test within three
weeks of completing the PMP training course.
|
How can we do this?
We do this with Pass-Assurance Technology. Specific only to Red Rock
course attendees, we have developed an evidence-based benchmark, based on our
simulator-test scores from past attendees, that lets you know how you measure up
against others who have passed the test on the first try.
Now you can know when you are finished studying and are ready to pass your
PMP Test. This is a huge time-saving benefit available only to Red Rock course
attendees.
Compare Guarantees
We know you have a choice when selecting your PMP Exam Prep course provider.
Be careful because not all exam prep guarantees are equivalent. Read the fine
print from other providers and be sure they don't contain 'processing fees' or
'administration fees' which they withhold from you. Red Rock we refund every
penny to you, minus the tests we have paid for in your behalf.
Preparing for the PMP Certification Boot Camp Training Class Our learning model is based on the assumption that you have not studied any PMP test material prior to coming to the training class. In class, we provide all of the training materials needed to learn the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Framework which the PMP test is based on.
For best results, dress comfortably. Most people wear business casual, or jeans and a nice shirt. Feel free to use a laptop for taking notes, but most people don't do this. Sufficient white space and a notebook are included with the course training materials so there is plenty of room for taking notes.
Be sure to plan ahead so you are not distracted during the training course by work emails or text messages. Red Rock recommends that you turn your phones off during class and turn them back on during the breaks. We have 5 minute breaks at the top of each hour during the training course.
Where in Florida to Take Your PMP Exam
After the training course is complete, you'll want to take your exam. We recommend that you take your test between one to two weeks after finishing the training course. During the time between training and the test, we recommend you read the PMBOK and work on passing the test simulator.
For a list of testing centers in the Florida area, visit www.PearsonVue.com and specify the city (HIALEAH) and the Project Management Institute's PMP Exam from the list of tests. The PearsonVue website lists official testing centers in or near HIALEAH.
The PMP can now be taken online. Learn more about that here: https://www.pmi.org/certifications/process/online-proctored-testing
Most in person PearsonVue testing centers are associated with a local University, Community College, or Trade School. As such, the testing centers open and close in alignment with their school semesters and breaks. At any given time you might see only some listed. Check back later and you might see a slightly different list.
Also, be aware that testing slots change frequently. If you don't see a convenient test slot in or near HIALEAH , check back in a few days and you will likely see a different set of options.
At the test center, you will not be allowed to bring in your watches, calculators, food, or any other paraphernalia. A calculator app will be provided on the Windows Desktop for your use during the test.
The test center does allow bio breaks during the test, but the clock does not stop ticking. For best results, don't drink a lot of water before the test begins.
PMI requires 2 forms of photo identity at the testing center to take the PMP test. One must be a government issued ID such as a drivers license, or a passport. The other can be a employee ID, a Cosco Membership, Gym Membership, or any other photo ID you have.
Preparing for your PMP Test Day After the training course is complete, you'll want to take your exam. We recommend that you take your test between one to two weeks after finishing the training course. During the time between training and the test, we recommend you read the PMBOK and work on passing the test simulator.
Schedule your test in the morning if possible. People can think best in the morning.
Be sure to get a good nights sleep before the test. Sleep effects compound. Two or three good nights sleep are better than just one. Try to get several good nights sleep before taking your PMP Test.
The morning of the exam eat a high carb & fat breakfast. Carbs and fat are excellent brain food. Get a greasy cheeseburger, or a traditional American breakfast with toast, bacon, eggs, etc., for best results. This will lubricate your neurons and get them primed for the challenge.
Chew gum up until you can take the test. The test center employees may ask you to get rid of your gum, and that's OK. Research has show that chewing gum relaxes the individual and puts them in a state where they are much more equipped to handle a test.
Be happy! Research has shown that happy people do better on tests than tense, or unhappy test takers. Buy yourself a small gift or do something memorable with a family member just before taking the test. Research has also shown that thinking of a happy memory also calms a test-taker and produces the same result as being happy.
Strategies for Passing the PMP Test To be equipped and ready for the PMP Exam, we recommend the following training strategy:
1. Attend our PMP Test Prep Boot Camp Training Course 2. Read the PMBOK 3. Pass our PMP Test Simulator 4. Memorize the Earned Value Formulas. (we do this in class) 5. Learn how to sequence activities. (we do this in class) 6. Learn to re-produce the process steps followed in the creation of the Project Management Plan (we do this in class) 7. Learn the answers to the summary questions at the end of each section we discuss in class. 9. Learn the 5 Process Groups and 10 Knowledge areas that comprise the PMBOK (we do this in class) 10. Be able to describe every process step in the PMBOK Framework (we do this in class)
How to Study for the PMP® Exam Much research has been done on to how to study. Here are some important elements that embody good study habits, to compliment your training.
1. The best time to study is right after waking up (your mind is fresh), and right before going to bed (you brain indexes what you were just doing). 2. Good sleep patterns compliment good study habits. Studies show students who study, sleep, study, sleep do better than those who just study for a long period of hours before taking a test. 3. Revisit all study materials at least five times, at least six hours apart from each other. 4. Don't forget to go back and revisit the easy material. Some students quickly pass through the easy material and then spend the remainder of their time on the hard stuff. Be sure to go back and revisit the easy stuff, too. 5. Assume you are studying to teach the material to someone else. Create a simple 'lesson plan' outline of all of the content, as of you were going to present it. Find someone and present it to them. 6. Once you have been exposed to all of them material, hour-per-hour, the best study technique is to use test simulator questions. 7. Use the 'Oracle Study Technique' where you are the broker of knowledge between the test question and the source of knowledge. Work the simulator questions and if you don't know the answer look it up from the source of knowledge (Oracle). 8. If you can write it down, you know it. If you can't quite write it down, you haven't learned it yet.
